Performing Arts Club Explores Culture and Nature in Kuala Penyu
KOTA KINABALU, 7 February 2025 – The Performing Arts Club successfully organized a study trip to Kuala Penyu, offering students an enriching cultural and educational experience.
Led by organizing chairpersons Diana Nicole and Kevin Kishan, the trip aimed to explore the unique culture of Kuala Penyu and deepen students' understanding of the rumbia tree, an important part of the local heritage.
The journey began at 8:30 AM from Kota Kinabalu, with participants arriving at Pekan Kuala Penyu around 10:30 AM. They enjoyed stunning views from Sitompok Bridge before having lunch and sightseeing at the breathtaking Sawangan Beach.
A key highlight of the trip was the visit to the Rumbia Information Centre in Kampung Kasugira, where students learned about the significance of the rumbia tree and explored the rumbia plantation walk. A group photo marked the memorable experience.
Before heading home, the group made a quick stop at Batu Luang and Tempurung Beach Resort to witness a spectacular sunset. At 6:30 PM, they departed for Kota Kinabalu, concluding a meaningful and enjoyable trip.
